JEFF LINDHORST
Director of Orchestras
Mr. Lindhorst violin and concertmaster, received his B.S. in Education in 1986 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He also studied violin with Silvian Itcovici, the Asst. Concertmaster of the St. Louis Symphony. His Master’s Degree in Music Education & Performance is from the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville He was concertmaster and soloist for the Town and Country Symphony from 2005-2015. He performed as violinist or Principal second violinist for sixteen seasons for the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra. He performed with the Ballet Orchestra of St. Louis for Swan Lake, Nutcracker & Romeo and Juliet. He has performed for musical greats such as: Luciano Pavarotti, The Moody Blues, Vince Gill, Lou Rawls, Dionne Warwick, Barry Manilow, Sissell, Manhatten Transfer, Smoky Robinson, Gladys Knight and Louise Mandrell. Recently, he and his family relocated to Reno-Tahoe to enjoy life! He is currently the Orchestra Director at Sparks High School and North Valleys High School enjoying his thirty-second year of teaching Orchestra.
GARRETT SPALKA
Director of Bands & Choirs
Mr. Spalka is a recent graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno where he studied Music Education. He was a student of Dr. "Mack" Mcgrannahan & Hank Curry. He has been a member of many ensembles including The Sacramento Mandarins Drum & Bugle Corps, The Nevada Wind Ensemble, and was a Drum Major for four years over the University of Nevada Wolf Pack Marching Band. He is currently the principal Tuba player for the Comstock Brass Quintet and Director of Bands and Choirs at Sparks High School.
